Project Overview: (Scope of Work)
EDECS undertakes the construction of a versatile terminal at Damietta Seaport, Egypt, where a comprehensive array of tasks is set to redefine maritime infrastructure. Central to the project is erecting a 1,100-meter environmental barrier to safeguard the navigation channel during sand reclamation, alongside a substantial expansion of the quay wall and stacking area by over 55,000 square meters. Advanced soil improvement techniques, including Prefabricated Vertical Drains (PVD), Vibro-compaction (VC), and Rapid Impact Compaction (RIC), are deployed to enhance ground stability. At the same time, deep foundation works encompassing diaphragm walls and barrettes ensure the structural integrity of the terminal. The construction also entails assembling the superstructure, installing essential berth furniture, implementing Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing (MEP) systems, and comprehensive infrastructure development, all geared towards optimizing operational efficiency and bolstering capacity. Key performance indicators include the construction of 1,250 meters of quay wall, reclamation of 1,000,000 cubic meters of land using on-shore equipment, and utilizing 680 diaphragm wall panels and 500 barrettes, among other significant milestones.
